In 2010, we saw unprecedented numbers of young people taking their lives as a result of bullying and prejudice against sexual minorities. Despite heightened public awareness, our youth continue to struggle through innumerable challenges of adolescence: physical challenges, mental challenges, and the challenge of finding a supportive community. To support our youth from now until It Gets Better, we’ve created The Empowerment Center.
The Empowerment Center seeks to help our youth through the day to day struggles of adolescence by growing their physical, emotional and mental strength, helping them develop the resilience necessary to overcome the hard choices and negative messages they face, and providing a supportive peer community.
