Equality California Institute educates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and the public at large about issues impacting the LGBT community and our allies. Established in 2000, EQCAI organizes and empowers individuals, communities and allied groups to work proactively for fairness, equality and justice.

Our Work

EQCAI leads The Breakthrough Conversation, a public education campaign designed to to identify and overcome the psychological, cultural and emotional triggers related to LGBT people and kids. In addition, EQCAI coordinates the LGBT Health and Human Services Network, a statewide health coalition, and sponsors the California Transgender Leadership Summit and Queer Youth Advocacy Day.
