Equality California Institute educates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and the public at large about issues impacting the LGBT community and our allies. Established in 2000, EQCAI organizes and empowers individuals, communities and allied groups to work proactively for fairness, equality and justice.

Our Work

EQCAI leads Let Californian Ring, a public education campaign designed to open hearts and minds about the freedom to marry. The Institute also coordinates the Equality Alliance, a broad coalition of LGBT and non-LGBT groups working together to further human and civil rights. In addition, EQCAI coordinates the LGBT Health and Human Services Network, a statewide health coalition, and sponsors the California Transgender Leadership Summit and Queer Youth Advocacy Day.
