Queer Youth Advocacy Day
Queer Youth Advocacy Day is an annual youth-led event where LGBT and allied youth from across the state gather in Sacramento to educate policy makers about what is needed to end harassment and discrimination against LGBT students in California schools. Youth receive intensive leadership, advocacy and media training. EQCAI is a sponsor of Queer Youth Advocacy Day, along with the Gay-Straight Alliance Network, BIENESTAR and Transgender Law Center.
California Safe Schools Coalition
The California Safe Schools Coalition is a statewide partnership of organizations and individuals dedicated to eliminating discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity in California schools. EQCAI serves on the steering committee for the Coalition and coordinates the Coalition’s State Policy Advocacy Working Group.
